Application for Membership

The Institute has eligibility criteria for all of its membership grades. These grades define the experience levels required for the Institute’s certification and annual licensing for practice. Thus, continuous membership is incidental to annual licensing program of the Institute. In view of the fore going, eligibility for Institute membership grades applies as follows:

It should be noted that the Professional Examinations (PE) of the Institute are designed in program and content to comply with UK professional and vocational training requirements as adopted and implemented by Southern Africa region and in particular, Republic of Namibia. The examinations are also based on Namibia National Qualification Authority (NQA) learners credit hours framework as approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, Namibia.

 

Practice Licensing and Regulations – Processes and procedures

There are two routes to the Institute’s practice licensing

 

By Training (Licentiate and Associates)

  1. quarterly online training modules prior to Institute’s professional examinations, or,
  2. four days of intensive training in course modules of Institute’s programs, and
  3. Subsequent professional examinations on the fifth day before induction to Associate and Corporate Member level.

 

By Induction (Corporate Member and Fellow)

Selection Panel Assessment Report (SPAR) and Direct Oral Interview(DOI).

This route to CIIAA senior membership practice licensing is only available to industrial practitioners who have distinguished themselves in the Institute’s areas of competence and have been in senior administrative cadre of an industrial concern for a period not less than 8 years prior to application for membership.

 

This induction program is at the kick off, of the Institute’s Annual Conference and only admits participants whose academic qualifications are Masters and Doctorate degrees in their chosen areas of specialization: or first Degree holders who have over 10 years of post-graduation industrial experience, 7 of which must be in senior administration cadre of their various industrial organizations. In all cases, inductees shall not be less than 40 years of age for Fellow and 35 years of age for Corporate Member.

 

PROCEDURE AND PROGRAMS OF INSTITUTE INDUCTION

  • Application for membership is open all through the year and candidates are to download the application form from the CIIAA website, complete it and return with a non-refundable processing fee of $30 paid by online deposit on the Institute’s fees payment portal.
  • The completed application form is scanned together with relevant credentials & CV and sent to the Institute’s Registrar at registrar@industrialadministrators.institute and hard copy forwarded to the Institute Corporate Office in Namibia see address at the reverse side of the form.
  • After the membership selection committee has finished assessment of applications and accompanying documents, the Institute shall send a notification of membership to the email of all the applicants whose applications were successful. It is the prerogative of the Institute’s membership selection committee to advice on the suitability of individuals, for the various membership grades or cadre.
  • The notification of membership shall further direct successful candidates to proceed to the Institute’s online payment portal to effect payment for their induction ceremony. The induction fee covers induction lecture, materials, tea, meal, certificates and Institute membership souvenirs.
  • For qualified candidates who are to be cited and decorated with the Institute’s Prestigious Professional Master’s Degree (Master of Industrial Administration or Master of Industrial Arbitration) and Doctorate Degree (Doctor of Industrial Administration or Doctor of Industrial Arbitration); the cost of their customized professional gowns and other decoration materials shall be sent to their emails.
  • The induction program shall admit new members to the Institute in the cadre of Fellow, Member & Associates of the Institute.
