Course Description

This course focuses on the practical applications of industrial design. It entails the essential skills and knowledge required to understand the range of activities involved in industrial design. Students will learn about design principles, materials and manufacturing processes, user experience, and sustainability. Through hands-on projects and case studies, students will develop their practical skills in: Designing for manufacturability and assembly; Prototyping and testing; Materials selection and specification; CAD design and visualization; User interface and packaging design; Design documentation and communication; Collaboration and project management. Secondly, this course provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles of industrial design, which emphasizes the practical influence of Industry 4.0 technologies on industrial administration. Students and practitioners will gain the necessary knowledge to effectively participate in digitally driven, smart work environments.
