This post graduate course shall consider an in-depth exploration of international multilateral investment agreements (IMIAs) between State parties. The course covers the nature, issues, and documentation of these agreements, emphasizing their role as legally binding instruments that can compel specific performance through arbitral Awards. The course also integrates the influence of Industry 4.0 technologies in the design and standardization of IMIAs, thus equipping students and practitioners with the necessary knowledge to understand and apply these agreements within the context of industrial arbitration. In addition, this postgraduate course shall focus on the evolution, scope, and impact of IMIAs on global investment flows. Students will analyze the key components of these agreements, including investment promotion and protection, dispute settlement mechanisms, and exceptions and limitations. The course will also explore the relationship between multilateral investment agreements and other areas of international economic law, such as trade and finance.
